for Spring 2025 in Harlem,
BrothaShakespeare
with Director S. Brian Jones, Dean of Diversity Equity at Pace University in New York City.
A former successful Shakespearian actor, now homeless living on the streets is forced to make peace with his past and the brutal truth of the two America's in which he lives. When a local theatre company mounts a new production called ‘Brotha Shakespeare,’ he insists to anyone who will listen to him that it's his story. A confrontation with the theatre company as to the “white” man on the poster causes him to go deep within and confront demons darker than any Shakespeare tragedy he's ever played on any stage.

"Keldrick Crowder’s plays Prince with a cold violence lurking underneath his smooth exterior”
- Beate Hein Bennet, New York Theatre Wire
"Keldrick Crowder’s hilarious, fabulous Tobias is the perfect foil for his determined wife, and their companionate marriage is one of the sweetest and most engaging parts of the play.”
- Natalie Sacks, Charged.fm
“... and Keldrick Crowder stood out in their physical and emotional commitment to rapidly shifting roles.”
-Emily Gawlak, Stagebuddy
“The highlight, undoubtedly is Mr. Crowder. His is a risky performance, dangerously straddling the line between forceful acting and overacting, and he is thoroughly arresting in one of Shakespeare’s trickiest roles.”
- Aaron Botwick, Scribicide
“... the wealthy white revolutionary Debuisson, rendered imposingly by Keldrick Crowder, for turning his back on his heritage to “play revolution.”
- Mitch Montgomery, Backstage
“And then there’s the homeless man, played with real energy and vigor by Keldrick Crowder...”
- Martin Denton, nytheater.com
“The classically-trained actor Keldrick Crowder comes onstage and opens his mouth in a moment of celebratory joy. I had no idea that so much sound could come out of a human orifice.”
